PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — The Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) is reminding Hyundai and Kia owners that they are still handing out free wheel locks to the owners of certain models.

The free locks are available to the owners of the cars and SUVs that car thieves began targeting after videos spread online showing how to steal the ones with turnkey ignitions.

To qualify, a car owner must live in Port St. Lucie, have valid identification, and proof that they own the vehicle. Affected drivers can get their lock by emailing Janae Angel to schedule an appointment.
