Keiser defeats Bethel in quarterfinals of NAIA Football Championship Series


The Keiser University football team defeated Bethel (Tennessee) 56-14 Saturday at the Keiser University Multi-purpose Field.Keiser (10-2), the No. 3 ranked team in the tournament, led the majority of the game as the Seahawks held a 7-0 lead after the first quarter and took a 28-7 lead at halftime.The Seahawks scored 14 points in each of the final two quarters to cruise the victory.Get the latest sports updates with the WPBF 25 News app. You can download it here.Keiser dominated rushing the football as the Seahawks tallied 267 rushing yards. Running back Andrew Burnette of Jensen Beach ran for 134 yards and three touchdowns, while teammate running back Jaden Meizinger of Port St. Lucie added 126 yards and two touchdowns.Keiser quarterback Bryce Veasley threw for 135 yards and threw a touchdown pass in the win.Defensively, Keiser was led by defensive back Wendol Philord of Miramar, who posted five total tackles, a tackle for loss, a sack and returned a fumble recovery 65 yards for a touchdown.J.D.
